Forbes Central America magazine, in its most recent publication, has included a list with the 100 most powerful women of 2020 in Central America and the Dominican Republic. Its objective is to recognize women who, from their work in different industries and disciplines, stand out for their work for the benefit of the region and whose stories are inspiring for overcoming challenges and exceeding expectations.
This important list includes 16 Guatemalan women, one of them is Isabel Gutiérrez de Bosch, for her contribution to education in Guatemala:
“We invested in education, because without education we would not have a beautiful Guatemala”: this is the creed of Doña Isabel. For her humanitarian work, she was elected Person of the Year at the Food Trade Fair 2019. As president of the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation, she focuses on the education of thousands of students, both academic education, as well as education on nutrition and on values, through scholarship programs that form «Young people with integrity and very professional». At the same time, she is the president of her eponymous foundation, which is dedicated to improving the early childhood of Guatemalans in marginalized communities»-Forbes Magazine, August 2020.
From an early age, next to her father, Juan Bautista Gutiérrez, doña Isabel participated in Rotary projects, and in the Spanish Charity. Later, she promoted the formalization of Fundación Juan Bautista Gutiérrez, the social arm of CMI – Corporación Multi Inversiones- in 1985. As its president, she works to maintain the ideals of solidarity and service to the community that her father, Don Juan Bautista, Gutiérrez lived by and formalize the charitable projects of the Bosch Gutiérrez and Gutiérrez Mayorga families.
